The Advantages Of A Tea Bag
Defined Tag: Tea Bag.
In early days, a tea strainer was used to hold the tea leaves so that it wouldn't get into your water. These tea strainer's can be quite fancy and come in different shapes and materials. Modern times have negated the use of the tea strainer with the invention of the tea bag. A tea bag is a sachet used to hold the tea leaves, usually it has a string so you can easily dip in and out of your water. The first bags were made of silk but later were made with gauze or paper. The tea bag paper is similar to the material that makes up the coffee and milk filters. It is a mixture of fibers which is usually the pulp of the abaca hemp. The abaca hemp is a small tree usually grown in Colombia and the Philippines. Much like the fast food business, the tea bag has modernized tea drinking. But with this modernization comes problems and one is freshness. When tea leaves are crammed inside the tea bag they can actually get cramped and become of lower quality. For this reason many diehard tea lovers will only use the loose tea leaves when they brew tea.
